How often do I need to change my rotary cutter's blade?

We recommend changing the blade on your Omnigrid® rotary cutter often. In fact, it's ideal to change it every time you start a new project. If you are using a heavier or lofty fabric in your project, you may need to change it more frequently. A sharp blade will make your rotary cutting easier and more accurate. It will add to the life of your mat, and because it cuts more smoothly, it is a safer alternative to a dull blade.

Why isn't my rotary cutter cutting smoothly and dragging on my fabric?

Make sure your Omnigrid® rotary cutter is not in the locked position; it should be set to either the light or heavy fabric selections. Make sure your blade is sharp; a dull blade can cause skipping and dragging when you rotary cut. Omnigrid® cutters are pressure sensitive so you will need to use a steady pressure when cutting.
